Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) is an integrated bill payment system which offers bill payment service to customers online as well as through a network of agents on the ground. The system will provide multiple payment modes and instant confirmation of receipt of payment.

BBPS includes the facility of collection of payments for utility bills for such as electricity, water, gas, DTH, telecom services, etc. In future other services like the collections of other types of payments like school / university fees, municipal taxes/ payments, mutual funds and insurance premium, various government taxes etc. as decided from time to time by the Reserve Bank of India will be incorporated in BBPS.

Customers will be able to pay bills of the billers, at any time (24 X 7), enrolled in the BBPS system.

There are multiple payment mechanisms for bills/collections.
  • Cash at counter
  • Through Mobile Banking Registration

Cash at counter:-

  • A Person who has come to the Branch Cash Counter for making Bill payments need to fill up bill payment details with mobile number in the Pay-in slip
  • Customer hand over the filled-in paying slip along with bill to the cashier
  • Cashier verify the cash and amount of bill to be paid (check the due date & amount)
  • After making the payment, Cashier hands over the bill and acknowledgement receipt to customer and request him/her to check Bill payment SMS alert on his/her mobile number

Through Mobile Banking

  • Customer has to fill up Mobile Banking registration Form
  • Bank will send registration SMS with MPIN and TPIN.
  • Customer shall download mobile banking application from Google playstore and Apple Play store
  • BBPS menu is available in application
  • Select relevant details from application and fetch the Bill

The customer receives an instant confirmation of payment made via a payment receipt/confirmation message. The receipt could be in the form of SMS/ email/ print out as desired by the customer.

As per NPCI guidelines, every Collection Operation Unit (COU) can charge Customer Convenience Fees (CCF) for each transaction as per standards specified by NPCI. Currently Greter Bombay Co-operative Bank Ltd. is not collecting any charges including CCF for BBPS transactions.
